California

  • Joint Committee on Emergency Services and Homeland Security

Colorado

  • Joint Select Committee on Homeland Security

Connecticut

  • Public Safety and Security Committee (joint committee)

The committee on PUBLIC SAFETY AND SECURITY shall have cognizance of all matters relating to homeland security, the Department of Public Safety, including state police, state organized task force on crime, municipal police training, fire marshals, the fire safety code and the state building code, civil preparedness and legalized gambling, and military and veterans' affairs, except veterans' pensions.

Georgia

All legislation concerning the maintenance of the security and well-being of Georgia’s citizen’s from physical violence or danger, will be assigned to the Public Safety & Homeland Security Committee.

Kansas

Louisiana

  • Senate - Select Homeland Security Committee

The Senate Select Committee on Homeland Security was created to study and review homeland security issues and make recommendations to assure the state’s readiness in case of terrorist attacks including, but not limited to, funding availability and coordination of effort to establish additional trauma centers around the state and coordination between Louisiana’s national guard, local and state law enforcement agencies, and state departments.

Massachusetts

  • Joint Committee on Public Safety & Homeland Security

It shall be the duty of the committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security to consider all matters concerning laws relating to shipping or otherwise transporting energy sources, the safety of the public, including civil defense, firearms and gun control, fire laws, motor vehicle laws, motor vehicle safety belts (including school buses), the correction system including administration, prisoners' rights, furloughs, work release, probation, rehabilitation, homeland or Commonwealth security matters, other matters related to federal affairs, including, but not limited to, the prevention of terrorist attacks; the reduction of the vulnerability to terrorism; the minimizing of the damage and recovery from possible attacks that may occur, and the coordination of homeland security related activities of the Commonwealth with those of the Federal Government, including certain confidential and guarded information and such other matters as may be referred.
