With more than 20 area museums and hundreds of great attractions, your visit to California's State Capital will be culturally rich and adventure-filled as well as informative and instructive. Sacramento has miles of recreation trails, scenic waterways, and great golf courses. The programs in this seminar are focused on current developments in information and library management, technology and legislative research.  Join your colleagues from other states in exploring new ways to think about your work and learn new skills to make your job easier.  Come away refreshed by the experiences we will share.

Registration Information

Seminar registration fees:
 $ 295 Legislator and legislative staff
 $ 149 Spouse or guest
 $ 325 Private sector
 $ 125 Day Pass
 $ 95 Student (Daily)

NCSL must receive your seminar registration by October 1, 2008.  The registration fee is payable in advance to NCSL or at registration. On-site registration is available if you are unable to register by the pre-registration deadline.

Spouse/Guest Registrations:  The $149 spouse/guest fee includes admission to all meal functions and social events.  The fee must be paid in full at registration.  NCSL cannot bill for spouse/guest registration fees.

Cancellation/Refunds:  All cancellations must be made in writing and may be faxed to (303) 364-7811.  Cancellations received in the NCSL Denver office postmarked or faxed by October 14 will be refunded, minus a $50 processing fee.  Fees cannot be refunded for registrations canceled after the conference begins.

Substitutions:  Substitutions require an additional processing fee of $25.  To make a substitution, you must: (a) Submit a written notice of cancellation indicating a request to transfer payment; (b) Submit a new registration form.  No onsite substitutions are allowed.

Mailed and faxed forms will not be confirmed by phone.

Hotel Reservations

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, 1209 L Street, Sacramento, California, USA 95814.  Please arrange accommodations directly with the Hyatt  by calling 916-443-1234 and indicate that you are attending the National Conference of State Legislatures conference to receive the conference rate of $189 single or double, plus 12% taxes and $1.63/day tourism fee.  To reserve rooms via the Internet, visit our personalized page of the Hyatt website http://sacramento.hyatt.com/groupbooking/sacranac52008.  Follow the instructions to make the reservation.  Reservations must be held by a credit card guarantee.  The deadline for making hotel reservations is September 24, 2008.  After that date, reservations will be accepted at the seminar rate based on room availability.

Travel

Please book your flight through Andavo Travel, NCSL’s official travel headquarters, by calling (800) 825-3283, or in Colorado, (303) 694-4344.  Andavo Travel maintains a 24-hour, toll-free line for changes and emergencies.

Airport and Ground Transportation
The hotel offers shuttle service for $12 each way to and from the Sacramento International Airport. The shuttle service operates from 5:00 am -7:30 pm daily and picks up at both Terminal A and B every 15 minutes and departs the hotel every half hour; no reservations are needed.  One-way cab fare from the airport is $30-$35.

Casual attire and comfortable shoes are recommended.  Please bring a sweater or light jacket, as evenings and meeting rooms may be cool.
